Chanel Dokun is an Author, Life Planner, and Relationship Expert trained in Marriage and Family Therapy. As a coach, she specializes in helping clients design a life rooted in their unique purpose. Her transformational coaching approach is outlined in her upcoming book Life Starts Now: How to Create the Life You’ve Been Waiting For, released August 2022. As Co-Founder of Healthy Minds NYC, Chanel not only coaches individuals but also helps couples prepare for marriage by facilitating our practice’s premarital counseling program.

Clients enjoy working with Chanel because of her warm, insightful, and yet practical style. She has a gift for helping clients put language to their experience and strategically guiding them to take action where they are able to create positive change in their lives. Chanel uses an integrated approach, drawing from Gottman, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy, among other modalities. With training in spiritual integration, Chanel enjoys honoring and interweaving clients’ spiritual backgrounds in care when requested and helpful to their thriving.

Prior to her work in mental health care and coaching, Chanel worked in publishing at Hearst Magazines. Since then she has been quoted in The New York Times, Real Simple, Essence, and more. Chanel received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Biblical Studies from Biola University and her Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Nyack College.
